Having grown up in the UK, Jason Backshall and his dad were regulars at grass track and speedway events.

Now living in Victoria, it was only after covid lockdowns made him realise how much fun he had been missing out on that he got a bike and gave speedway long bikes a crack.

Despite needing to import one the next step was jumping on a European 500cc speedway sidecar, a class he is now a driving force behind trying to build here in Australia. Along with Kate Barnes from Burnt Rebels Racing he has some exciting plans locally in Victoria and Australia, and they are also taking the leap and going back to where their machines originated later this year.
