One of the first questions that we hit our guests with is ‘how did you get into sidecars’, and Vic Vasella gave us a new answer, it was thanks to his daughter.
Vic raced solos around New South Wales, including a few years at the Bathurst Easter Races, for decades with his family in tow. Somewhat out of the blue his daughter showed an interest in sidecars so they attended a Come and Try Day where with each lap she did Vic was hatching a plan to get a sidecar from them to race.
The pair enjoyed success quickly in the period 3 class in the mid to late 2000’s until work commitments brought their fun to an end. In 2026 Vic finally got to work on a build that had been sitting in his shed for over 20 years and made a return to the track at the All Historic Racing 50th Anniversary.
